Aperol Spritz

Aperol Spritz

The Aperol Spritz is one of those uncomplicated cocktails, that is still incredibly delicious. Not a lot of measuring is really required, although there is an official recipe at the back of the Aperol bottle. This has to be the official drink of summer. Everyone seem to enjoy it, and it's very understandable. The sparkling wine paired with bittersweet Aperol, slightly diluted with a splash of bubbly water certainly is a quencher! We enjoyed these drinks in the company of two friends from Gothe

Adriatique

Adriatique

The Adriatique by Jackson Cannon is a really colourful cocktail. It's primarily based around amaro Montenegro, which is one of our favourite amari. It's herbal, sweet and very flavorful, and it's just perfect to use in cocktails. As the weather is hotter than ever in Stockholm we were able to enjoy (and photograph) this drink outdoors. There's something extra enjoyable in being able to sip these Italian products outside. We just imagine this is how they are consumed in Italy all year around. A

The Amen Corner

The Amen Corner

The Amen Corner, by Nick Brown is a riff of The Paper Plane. And it's delicious! Those muddled mint leaves add a lot of character despite not being visible in the finalized drink. And, as lovers of Maraschino cherries this is definitely a drink for us. Not one, not two but THREE cherries is the suggested garnish. Well we couldn't be happier, these cherries are truly some black pearls! We recently bought a set of vintage cocktail picks, mimicking different fruit and vegetables. None of them dep

Effervescence

Effervescence

EFFERVESCENCE Here we wanted to create an original low ABV cocktail. We have been curious about Lillet Rouge for a while (after enjoying Lillet Blanc for a long while). The red version is a bit more fruity and maybe slightly sweeter than the white version. So we decided to pair it with bittersweet Aperol and sweet vermouth, and then top everything with club soda to get the sparkles going, and to further lower the ABV. We knew beforehand, just by looking at the bottles, that we would end up wit

Cuzco

Cuzco

An almost metallic flavour is what you get if you shake up a Cuzco cocktail by Julie Reiner. The combination of Pisco, grapefruit juice and Aperol is so spectacular, but hard to describe, that you have to try this cocktail to understand what happened in the shaker. The Aperol colours the drink in a very nice way. This subtle pale orange tone is so flattering to any cocktail, it looks immediately delicious we think. Cuzco Recipe Ingredients: 2 oz Pisco 0,75 oz Aperol 0,75 oz simple syrup 0,5 o

Captain Ron

Captain Ron

Our families know us too well. Among the Christmas presents we recently got were Kara Newman's new book “Road Soda” and a beautiful flask from Rabbit. Wanting to put these thoughtful gifts into immediate use we made a Captain Ron cocktail from Kara's book. This drink, adapted by John Henderson, is supposed to be served at room temperature making it ideal to store in a flask and enjoy even when there is not a fridge or ice around. Consuming a cocktail at room temperature might seem strange to b

The Precision Timepiece

The Precision Timepiece

It's always exciting to try a product for the very first time. When we recently met cocktail genius Dustin Heimsoth in Berlin he told us about Jägermeister's new high end spirit - Manifest. And while its edition is somehow limited we were lucky to buy a bottle at Berlin's Tegel airport on our way home. The first cocktail we decided to use Manifest in is The Precision Timepiece by Sother Teague. This recipe originally calls for Jägermeister, but we used Manifest instead. We truly enjoyed this c

Mestizo

We are quite excited about new book “Do It The French Way” by Daniel Gaujac. This book covers five of France's most iconic apereitifs; Byrrh, Suze, Ricard, Lillet and Pernod Absinthe. While not being a recipe book per se, it rather covers the history of these spirits, accompanied with some gorgeous photographs. There's also a lot of vintage barware in the photos, if you just like us think that's intriguing. However, the second part of the book are interviews with some of the world's best barten
