Masonic

Masonic

The Masonic cocktail is composed by Swedish super mega star Madeleine Solo Rapp @madeleinesolorapp [https://www.instagram.com/madeleinesolorapp/] residing at The Dead Rabbit bar in New York City. So despite the mezcal, sherry and amaro Montenegro in Madeleine's cocktail, incorporating a small Swedish flag in this shoot still felt very appropriate. We adore cocktails like this one, sounding quite simple by just reading the recipe and seeing three ingredients. But then already on the first sip y

Helen of Troy Does Countertop Dancing

Helen of Troy Does Countertop Dancing

“Helen of Troy Does Countertop Dancing” Yep, that's the rather striking name of this peculiar cocktail from The Independent in Boston. What made it catch our interest was mainly that huge amount of Angostura bitters in it, a full half of an ounce! It sounded overwhelming… However, before actually making this cocktail we decided to try some Angostura bitters neat. Our preconception was that it would be extremely bitter, so we were actually a bit surprised to discover how smooth, and gingerbread

Conspiracy Theory

Conspiracy Theory

The Conspiracy Theory by Connor Stehr is a sloe gin driven cocktail, which is extra fun for us to make as it contains Swedish punsch. The punsch contributes with an arrak kind of flavour, and it is relatively sweet. It plays very well with the sloe gin which is also somehow semi sweet, but is countered nicely by the lime juice. The sloe gin we used, Monkey 47, is not as intensely red as some other brands, so our cocktail ended up more on the orange side. It still tasted divine, so our complime

Remember the Alimony

Remember the Alimony

Remember the Alimony is a three ingredient cocktail by Dan Greenbaum. It's supposed to be one of Robert Simonson's favorite cocktails - and that fact got us intrigued. Also we really like to use Cynar. It's one of the most available and approachable amari and it is simply delicious. We're not totally convinced you really taste the artichoke in it, but it doesn't matter as it anyway tastes so good. Remember the Alimony Recipe Ingredients: 1,25 oz dry sherry 1,25 oz amaro Cynar 0,75 oz gin Mix

#nakedgrouse_partner We are really excited to partner up with Naked Grouse, trying out their blended malt scotch whisky. It's a whisky aged on first fill sherry casks, creating a very smooth spirit suitable for both classic and newer cocktails. And making whisky cocktails is a lot of fun. Having previously mainly been a liquor to enjoy on it's own, there are now so many nice recipes for scotch and whisky cocktails available. And today we start off with a variation of a cocktail called Some Bea

Seaplane

Seaplane

The Seaplane by Joseph Schwartz is a French 75 riff, meaning theres lots of Champagne in it! And who doesn't love a Champagne driven cocktail? Theres something instantly luxurious with sparkling drinks we think, especially when real Champagne is used. In The Seaplane there's also Absinthe, and even if the amount is tiny it boosts the cocktail with both character and confidence. The gin means the dryness from the Champagne is further enhanced, while simple syrup and lemon balance the overall fla

Albert Mathieu

Albert Mathieu

We recently spotted these green tinted glasses in a local charity shop here in Stockholm. Normally we only buy clear glassware as we want to be able to see the colour of the actual cocktail. But there was something about these green vintage glassware that made it impossible to walk away from them. So after buying them, against our believes, we knew we needed to mix up a green cocktail so that the photo would still somehow be true to the cocktail. Thankfully we came across Kevin Martin's recipe

Edgewood

Edgewood

As Punt E Mes is one of the ingredients in Greg Best's Edgewood cocktail, it gets an almost golden colour making it look very appealing. And it also tastes phenomenal, being a bit bitter and sweet at the same time. When poured into coupes this cocktail almost looks like a beer we think. We are also playing with perspectives in this photo (these glasses are actually tiny) and this further enhance the beer look. This cocktail is perfect for sipping on a Saturday. It's sophisticated, interesting
