Dill is an herb strongly connected with Scandinavia, and Sweden especially. We like to boil potato with dill, we use it in pickles, we season fish with it and we garnish our shrimp sandwiches with dill sprigs. So of course Oskar Kinberg, who is Swedish, incorporated dill in a cocktail and came up with the most clever name drink name. The cocktail gets this nice green colour thanks to the dill and it’s accentuated by the the cucumber juice, which also contributes with an earthy green flavour. D

Beer Grylls

Beer Grylls

Beer cocktails we do not shake that often, but when seeing this recipe in Oskar Kinberg’s Cocktail Cookbook all we could do was to go and buy some wheat beer. Because mixing beer with rum, banana and honey sounded too interesting not to try. And we think the result was delicious! We had this drink together with a hamburger, as it seemed like a good drink to pair with food. Be careful though when pouring the beer into the glass with the other ingredients. A fantastic foam formed fast! Beer Gry

North Sea Oil

North Sea Oil

We do like seeing aquavit in cocktail recipes. It's a traditional Nordic spirit that up until recently hasn't been used in cocktails that much. Leo Robitschek's North Sea Oil is a wonderful example of a cocktail where aquavit gets to be the shining star, while still being slightly mellowed by Cocchi Americano and triple sec. The super smokey scotch adds almost like another dimension to the drink, and the final result is simply irresistible! North Sea Oil Recipe by Leo Robitschek Ingredients: 0

Currant Affairs

Currant Affairs

This is the first time ever we are using redcurrants in a drink. The berries are used both as a muddled ingredient in the actual cocktail, and then also as a pearl-like garnish. Their sweet-and-sour flavour is phenomenal, and it really takes this drink to the next level. Then combined with the thick and exotic tasting guava juice, a rather unique cocktail is born. Currant Affairs Recipe by Oskar Kinberg Ingredients: 1,75 oz vodka 0,66 oz mandarine liqueur 0,66 oz fresh lemon juice 0,33 oz simp

Bull Fight

Bull Fight

Movember is here, so expect to see lots of moustaches as a symbol for the month’s focus on mens health. Our contribution is this moustache garnished cocktail called the Bull Fight. And if you look closely, doesn’t that moustache also resemble the horns on a bull? We thought so, and decided November was the perfect month to post in, for all those reasons. The drink is delicious! Falernum is an exciting ingredients, tempting to consider nothing but simple syrup. But it is actually more of a spic

Queen's Slipper

As autumn is here, and winter is soon around the corner - starting to make these dark brown cocktails makes a lot of sense. We like sipping on this kind of drinks, accompanied by some lit candles when it’s completely dark outside. Now that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun with the drink. A crazy straw, tilted 90 degrees makes the perfect garnish for this funny named drink. The taste of the cocktail is heavily defined by the Smith & Cross rum. But as this is one our favorite rums we don’t m

The Post Sunset

The Post Sunset

We thought it was fun with Limoncello in a cocktail. We happen to have a bottle in our cabinets, that we’ve so far only enjoyed neat, but now it was time to put it to test in a cocktail. We also thought a recipe based on two lime wedges sounded…fun…and challenging. How much juice does one wedge hold? It turned out our wedges were quite juicy, so we ended up with just the right amount of lime juice to balance the super sweet Limoncello. This is probably the key, we can see how this recipe could

Transfusion No. 1

Transfusion No. 1

Couldn’t resist bringing out this skeleton garnished straw, and shaking up Bar Canon’s transfusion cocktail. Adding red food coloring to a drink we would normally call slight cheating, but on a day like today it seems totally fair! And don’t let the long list of ingredients scare you. They all mix well together, creating a spooky good cocktail. We especially like the addition of chili liqueur, giving the drink a hair rising effect. Happy Halloween!
