We’ve been generously provided with a sample of Glenmorangie’s [https://www.glenmorangie.com/en-int/our-whiskies/a-tale-of-cake] new cake inspired whisky. And along with the bottle came a gorgeous pineapple cake, inspired by the whisky - or was it maybe the whisky that was inspired by the cake… …anyway, here Glenmorangie celebrates the joy of a cake moment in a sweet and indulgent single malt Scotch whisky. Inspired by favorite memories of baking, birthdays and more, this whisky is not at all

Strawberry Daiquiri (JL Remix)

Strawberry Daiquiri (JL Remix)

With this strawberry daiquiri we bid our last farewell to the summer. It's definitely autumn in Sweden now, but through cocktails you can always travel - both through seasons and through the world. This strawberry daiquiri is elevated to the next level thanks to an addition of sherry. It helps balancing the sweet notes of the cocktail, and it goes really well with strawberries. A tiny pinch of salt and pepper adds a spicy tone to the drink which once again is perfect to counter the sweetness

Apple Glow Tonic

Apple Glow Tonic

Today Skånska Spritfabriken [https://spritfabriken.com/appelglod/] launch their new apple distillate ”Äppelglöd” in Sweden. It’s a lovely low ABV apple spirit, made with Swedish apples and with no added sugar whatsoever. It can be enjoyed ice cold as an aperitif, or it can be mixed ”tonic-style” like we did. The apple tonic water we’re using here is pretty awesome. It has the expected tonic qualities, but it’s backed up with this vibrant apple tone in the background that works perfectly togethe

Oaxacan Smoking Jacket

This one is so delicious with all of that mezcal in it. And we think it is nicely complemented by the other ingredients in the drink; sherry and amaro CioCiaro. Recipe by Maggie DiGiovanni Ingredients: 1,5 oz mezcal 0,5 oz oloroso sherry 0,5 oz Amaro CioCiaro 0,25 oz simple syrup 8 drops mole bitters Mixing: Stir all of the ingredients with fresh ice, strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Dead Man's Handle

There's orgeat in this one, one of our favorite sweeteners. It adds sugar, but also a nice velvety texture to drinks, plus it has a certain exotic vibe over it. Here it is combined with tequila and lime and then also Aperol which adds a cool bitter element to the drink. Recipe by Tifanny Kirk Ingredients: 1,5 oz blanco tequila 0,75 oz Aperol 0,5 oz fresh lime juice 0,5 oz orgeat Mixing: Shake all ingredients with fresh ice and strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. Glassware:

Saké Piña Colada

Saké Piña Colada

This one turned out so delicious. It is somehow a bit lighter compared to the original, and using saké instead of rum moves this cocktail in a much elegant Asian direction. For us it got extra authentic as we were able yo use a bottle of saké that we bought ourselves when we were in Japan last summer. The label is only in Japanese so we don't really know what brand it is, or even what type of saké it is. However, we got to try it in the store before buying the bottle so we knew we would l

Twelve Mile Limit

There's still the possibility to have drinks outside. Summer is slowly leaving Sweden but we're determined to sip every ray of sun we can. And this potent cocktail is perfect for outside sipping. It's interesting how the rather peculiar mix of rum, whisky and Cognac can work so well - because it really does. Recipe adapted by Dave Kwiatkowski Ingredients: 1 oz overproof rum 0,5 oz rye 0,5 oz Cognac 0,5 oz grenadine 0,5 oz fresh lemon juice Mixing: Shake all ingredients with fresh ic

Omaka - beer and food

Omaka - beer and food

Today Omaka [https://omaka.beer/] open their beer hangout and contemporary restaurant in the middle of Stockholm. Master brewer Hedda Spendrup brews the beer in the very same building, and on your way in and out of the restaurant you get a good glimpse of those massive steel tanks. It's a very authentic and super local experience indeed. There are around 5-10 beers to choose from, and they are served in small enough pours to allow you to try more than one during an evening. Our favorite was
