Minch's Lure

Minch's Lure

This mix of whiskey, pear and almond is very intriguing. It plays on the best features of Highland Park scotch, its woody and earthy notes, and combines them brilliantly with the fruity pear and the nutty almond. A very delicious and somehow unusual cocktail. Recipe by Tommy Ho Ingredients: 1 oz Highland single malt whiskey 0,75 oz pear brandy 0,75 oz amontillado sherry 1 tsp simple syrup 10-15 drops almond extract Mixing: Stir all ingredients with fresh ice and strain into a coupe. Maybe you shouldn't carve and cocktail at the same, but we did it anyway - with great caution of course. Because inspired by Moa Ott and Highland Park we carved a wooden spoon ourselves, and we did so while sipping on this cocktail. Made with Highland Park scotch and mixed in a rather peculiar way with tequila and herbal liqueur this drink is pretty fascinating. It has a really nice aroma and it tastes wonderful. The carving of a wooden spoon went surprisingly well. Thankfully Moa had done

Do not go gentle into that good night

Do not go gentle into that good night

As winter and Christmas is approaching we are more and more looking into warm drinks. A hot cocktail can certainly warm you up after a cold winter walk, maybe in snow or harsh winds. In Sweden we have a long tradition of drinking ”glögg” with is basically warm wine that’s been sweetened and had lots of spices added to it. Today though we are making something less traditional, but still with the same likability as mulled wine. This is the ”Do not go gentle into that good night” by Chantal Tseng -

Smoke and mirrors

Smoke and mirrors

Combining “regular” scotch with a really smoky one combines the best of both scotch worlds. You get the smoothness and roundness plus a hint of that burnt smokiness that we appreciate so much. The fresh mint brightens up everything here, adding a vegetal touch that's both refreshing and even a bit up-lifting. Smoke and Mirrors Recipe by Alex Day Ingredients: 4 mint leaves 0,75 oz simple syrup 1 oz scotch 0,5 oz smoky scotch 0,75 oz fresh lime juice 2 dashes absinthe Mixing: In a sha

Last Minute Gift

Last Minute Gift

We found this recipe via Imbibe Magazine [https://imbibemagazine.com/last-minute-gift/] and immediately wanted to make it. We did have some leftover chocolate oat milk, which we used instead of the suggested spiced oat milk, and we can tell it worked so well! The oat milk creates this smooth rich texture, turning the cocktail almost into a dessert. The addition of walnut bitters we love a little bit extra, it's a fantastic bitter that unfortunately doesn't get used too often. Last Minute Gi

Scotch can be so fantastic in cocktails, and this drink by Alex Day is such a good example of that. What we like extra much here is the tiny addition of Green Chartreuse and of course the fresh mint. Very refreshing indeed. Smokescreen Recipe by Alex Day Ingredients: 4 mint leaves 0,75 oz simple syrup 1 oz scotch 0,5 oz really smoky scotch (like Laphroaig) 0,25 oz Green Chartreuse 0,75 oz fresh lime juice Mixing: Muddle the mint with the simple syrup. Then add all other ingredients an

Peat's Dragon

Peat's Dragon

Scotch and mezcal combined in the same drink is not that common, and that's the exakt reason this recipe caught our attention. We really like how tasty it turned out, sipping this drink was pure enjoyment. We served it in heavy, ice-cold rocks glasses for that extra luxurious feel . . . and it worked! Peat's Dragon Recipe by Kyle Jones Ingredients: 1,5 oz scotch 1 oz mezcal 0,5 oz fino sherry 0,5 oz agave syrup 0,25 oz fresh lemon juice Mixing: Combine all of the ingredients in a sha

GLASGOW MULE

GLASGOW MULE

Yes! Finally we can use these copper mugs we bought when we were in Japan last summer. They are perfect for mule cocktails, even if the one we're making today is not the most classical one. But swapping vodka for scotch is actually super nice. It gives the drink a bit more depth in our opinion and makes it a even more interesting. Glasgow Mule Recipe by Damon Boelte Ingredients: 4 oz ginger beer 1,5 oz scotch 0,75 oz lemon juice 0,5 oz elderflower liqueur 1 dash Angostura bitters Mix
