When there is cherry liqueur in a drink, we almost feel obliged to garnish with maraschino cherries. This time we wrapped it with lemon zest, for that extra flair. The cocktail itself is a fun one. Genever, combined with Cherry Heering, lemon juice and sugar make rust red drink with many layers of flavour, the star of course being the Danish cherry liqueur. Recipe by Gromit Eduardsen Ingredients: 1,66 oz genever 0,66 oz Cherry Heering 0,66 oz lime juice 0,33 oz simple syrup 1 dash Ango

Koffie & Tonic

Koffie & Tonic

We have always been coffee drinkers, and the last few years we've really started to also enjoy cold coffee. It is of course nice to use coffee in cocktails, and for that purpose, cold brew coffee is extra convenient as it gives a lot of flavour without diluting the drink. In this recipe we used Mode cold brew coffee concentrate [http://modecoldbrew.com/] which means we were able to pack in even more coffee flavour. When it's combined with bitter tonic water and genever a super interesting dri

Tall gin drinks are great during the hotter months. This one which also has genever in it is a refreshing quencher with a gorgeous golden colour. The tiny amount of walnut liqueur is interesting. It feels almost unnecessary when you put it in the mix, but then you take a sip of the drink and immediately recognize that nutty flavour. It's a fun way of using liqueur almost as a bitter. What's extra striking about this drink is how the small amount of amaretto almond liqueur manages to shine through quite a lot, and somehow determine the drink's main profile. ⠀ The amaretto mixes well with genever, a combination we believe we are trying for the first time here. The lemon juice is needed to balance the sweetness from the liqueur. (But despite the fruit juice content the recipe says the drink should be stirred and not shaken). ⠀ The golden tone the amaretto gives the drink is b

Oh, are there some nice ingredients in this one?! Cognac cocktails are always so luxurious - just like sipping Champagne. This is probably the first time we've seen it paired with genever though, and we think they work brilliantly together.⁣ ⁣ The addition of Punt e Mes and a tiny amount of Fernet-Branca gives the drink both its amber colour as well as some intriguing taste.⁣ ⁣ For us this was a great nightcap, and it's one we will probably enjoy more times. In the photos we tried our best to

Mess Around

Mess Around

So, how's everybody doing now a few days after Christmas? We had a great time, celebrating with our families. Now there are a few “normal” days before New Years Eve and we thought a coffee cocktail, in the style of a world famous cream liqueur would be fitting. Sidekick Cold Brew Coffee [https://sidekickcoldbrew.se/] is new Swedish brand making cold brew coffee and also turning it into concentrate. We started by tasting it natural, and it has a distinct and very pleasant coffee flavour. Not too

Mother's Little Helper

Mother's Little Helper

Drinks named in a funny way we're always particularly drawn to. Mother's Little Helper is definitely such a name. But also when looking through the list of ingredients we immediately knew we would like it. Sherry has become one of our favourite ingredients lately, being relatively neutral it pairs well with most other ingredients, at the same time keeping the drink's ABV on a moderate level. The small amount of elderflower liqueur in this recipe sweetens the drink in a subtle but sufficient way.

The name might be short and easy, but the cocktail is long and complex. It is made with three different sweeteners, each one full of distinct flavor. Then there is the Dry Rye gin [http://www.stgeorgespirits.com/spirits/gins/st-george-dry-rye-gin/] in a rather small amount followed by a generous splash of genever. Very noticeable is also the colour of this drink, it gets intensely yellow, making it look very tempting. V.O.C. Recipe by Jim Betz Ingredients: 1 barspoon cinnamon syrup 0,25 oz gi
