Jitterbug

Jitterbug

Let's kick off this new year, called 2018, with our new year resolutions and a cocktail containing exactly what's needed after yesterday's celebrations, fresh coffee! The recipe for the Jitterbug is from bar Canon's book. What's particularly fun about this cocktail is that the coffee creates this wonderful foam when shaken together with the other ingredients. Feeling very awake and alert after all this coffee, we start to contemplate our cocktail new year resolutions for 2018; 1) We definitel

French Intervention

French Intervention

Happy new year! Can you believe we are already saying goodbye to 2017 and at the same time welcoming 2018?! From a cocktail point of view 2017 has been fantastic. Not only have we been fortunate enough to visit several of the world's best bars, but we have also found so many new great recipes that we have tried at home. We obviously want to end this year with a bang. And the French Intervention by liquid talent Shawn @narphorium is a super exciting cocktail to be shaking on new years eve. The

Brown Sugar

Brown Sugar

This is another gem by Leo Robitschek, and it's simply called Brown Sugar. And brown is certainly what you end up with, as every single ingredient has a golden brown colour. There is the wonderful Lustau East India sherry, and delicious Italian amaro Cynar. Then there's both rye and rum and mole bitters to bind it all together. We like how balanced this cocktail is. It's many different flavours compliment each other and create a boozy and stiff cocktail, that's still so easy and enjoyable to si

Schnitzelburg

Schnitzelburg

Kind of a Christmas drink it is, the Schnitzelburg cocktail. With the Caradamaro and Maraschino cherry liqueur, combined with bourbon and Fernet-Branca it's anyway the perfect sipper now, a few days after Christmas. What we liked about this cocktail was its intensity. It's a boozy drink, but with more tastes than just the strong bourbon. The small amount of bitter Fernet-Branca shines through, as does the sweet cherry liqueur and the spiced amaro. Brown drinks are always challenging to photogr

Blood Orange

Blood Orange

Jamie Boudreau at Canon in Seattle [http://www.canonseattle.com/] claims this cocktail tastes of blood orange, despite no presence at all of that citrus fruit in the ingredients list. In fact, he's so sure you will taste it, he even named the cocktail Blood Orange. And believe it or not, this cocktail really tastes like blood orange. That bitterness from the Campari, combined with orange juice mimics blood orange in an almost magical way. This is the perfect way of enjoying that flavour all yea

Polished Diamond

Polished Diamond

Etrog has been a new discovery to us during 2017. It's a yellow citron fruit, looking like a knotty lemon. At Sukkah Hill Spirits they turn this characteristic citron into a delicious liqueur. And tonight we incorporate the Etrog liqueur in a Polished Diamond cocktail. Another ingredient in this drink is a dry white wine, which we don't use too often in cocktails. Turns out it works really well, contributing with a subtle dryness, and also helping to lower the ABV. A big part of cocktailing to

Mots de Caraïbes

Mots de Caraïbes

We've been waiting to open our bottle of rum Fire for a while. We wanted to decide on the perfect premiere cocktail to make with this rum that we've heard so many good things about. So finally we decided to make a Mots de Caraïbes by rum enthusiast Brian Di Maggio. Brian cleverly composed this drink as an equal part cocktail, combining the sweet rum with tart Suze and balancing it all with fresh maraschino liqueur and sour lime juice. It's a brilliant recipe, so delicious. Hands up for you Bri

Pushing Daisy

Pushing Daisy

The Pushing Daisy cocktail by Mattias Skoog has such a great meaning to us. It was one of the first cocktails we tried at renowned bar Tjoget in our home town Stockholm. And the the first time we ever tried it was on my birthday back in May, and after that we've ordered it several times. So discovering the recipe for this, which we thought was like the world's biggest secret was almost a life changer. It turns out our buddy Anders visited Tjoget on a trip to Sweden and somehow miraculously mana
