We do like seeing aquavit in cocktail recipes. It's a traditional Nordic spirit that up until recently hasn't been used in cocktails that much. Leo Robitschek's North Sea Oil is a wonderful example of a cocktail where aquavit gets to be the shining star, while still being slightly mellowed by Cocchi Americano and triple sec. Madame Laveau

This is a recipe from the beautiful gem “The Nomad Cocktail Book”. We immediately fell for this cocktail seeing there was Strega in it. Strega is an Italian herbal liqueur which adds a load of flavour to any cocktail it's used in. The Madame Laveau cocktail lets the Strega shine through, while carefully letting its taste mix with other potent ingredients such as aquavit and rum.
