It was the combination of gin and applejack that got us interested, but it is the lemon juice and the Lillet Blanc that give the drink its colour. All ingredients contribute to the great flavour though, and the cocktail is really enjoyable. Not sure what swan song really sounds like, but it's easier to imagine while sipping this bird-themed cocktail. Mixing brandy and applejack is quite brilliant. Also the added orange juice brings a sour note to the drink while the tiny amount of grenadine both colors and flavors the drink. The prop feathers are synthetic by the way, and they have been nowhere near a swan we can assure. This is low ABV cocktail “The Winter Of Our Content” by Toby Maloney. It uses Licor 43, a Spanish vanilla and herb liqueur that we are trying for the first time in a cocktail. And what's the reason?
