This is a Pomegranate Martini made with pomegranate juice rather than grenadine. This gives the cocktail an intense, ruby red colour that makes the whole creation look very delicious.
Just like cranberry juice, pomegranate juice is a bit bristly on the tongue and it's actually a pretty cool thing in this cocktail. It is not a sweet drink but rather a well balanced one with both acidity and fruit very present.
As seen in the recipe this cocktail is vodka based. Many times vodka is not the most exciting spirit, but in this cocktail where the pomegranate is supposed to be the star, it's the perfect booze partner.

1 oz vodka
0,5 oz Cointreau
1 oz pomegranate juice
0,25 oz fresh lemon juice
Mixing:
Shake with ice and strain into a glass.
