MacNamara Rose

MacNamara Rose

This bright red cocktail is very tasty with its whiskey, Lillet rosé and Aperol mix and those very noticeable flavors from the cucumber. We're always amazed at how versatile Aperol is, it can be used in so many different kind of drinks, and it always tastes fantastic. Of course it is also nice that it contributes with such a gorgeous colour. We were very generous on the cucumber garnish, and those ribbons actually doubled as a healthy drink snack as well! MacNamara Rose Recipe by Joaqu

Gin Crown

Gin Crown

Tall gin drinks are great during the hotter months. This one which also has genever in it is a refreshing quencher with a gorgeous golden colour. The tiny amount of walnut liqueur is interesting. It feels almost unnecessary when you put it in the mix, but then you take a sip of the drink and immediately recognize that nutty flavour. It's a fun way of using liqueur almost as a bitter. What's extra striking about this drink is how the small amount of amaretto almond liqueur manages to shine through quite a lot, and somehow determine the drink's main profile. ⠀ The amaretto mixes well with genever, a combination we believe we are trying for the first time here. The lemon juice is needed to balance the sweetness from the liqueur. (But despite the fruit juice content the recipe says the drink should be stirred and not shaken). ⠀ The golden tone the amaretto gives the drink is b

Tequila and lime is a classic combination that is always good. In this recipe elderflower liqueur acts as a sweetener and Punt e Mes brings both flavour and a fantastic colour. ⠀ This recipe is very enjoyable, and we are extra fond of the tequila and mezcal mix - they combine very well. ⠀ Salud! We would lie if we didn't say it was the name of the drink that initially caught our attention. But then reading through the list of ingredients just got us even more intrigued. Cold-brew coffee, pink peppercorn syrup, amaro, Galliano, Branca Menta and bitter soda . . . wow that is quite some mix! ⠀ And then we took a first sip and realized what a fantastic creation this one is! Obviously full of different flavors, but not overpowering each other. The sparkling lemon soda does a fantastic job of

L'Escolar Gin and Tonic Riff

Normally when tonic syrups are used there's always some sparkles added in the end, either regular club soda or even sparkling wine. What caught our attention in this recipe was the lack of bubbles. Instead concentrated tonic syrup is stirred with gin, Byrrh and bitters resulting in a very elegant cocktail. It shares characteristics with a classic gin and tonic, but is obviously more concentrated. By accident one of the photos we took got slightly off-angle. But maybe it was meant to be as o

When Cocktailpodden [https://www.instagram.com/cocktailpodden/] dedicated a full episode to banana liqueur we were inspired to find a really good recipe based on it, making full use of the banana's distinctive flavour. Because let's face it, banana liqueur had/has a bad reputation. Some ten-twenty years ago it was the go-to-bottle for those exotic, often super sweet and colourful drinks that were the bestsellers of most bars. Luckily things have changed, and today there are premium banana li

Tom and Daisy

Tom and Daisy

Tall cocktails are always fun to kick off the weekend with. They are festive, but not overwhelmingly strong. Be a bit cautious though, the Tom and Daisy is easy to sip on, but there is actually quite a lot of old tom gin in it…⠀ ⠀ Seeing yellow Chartreuse in recipes always makes us extra happy. It's a gorgeous liqueur that adds both taste and colour to drinks.⠀ ⠀ We used sustainable metal straws, and reused plastic drink stirrers in this one. No unnecessary waste here!
