We are using our home-grown basil in a rather unusual drink today. First we turned the fresh basil into a syrup by simply muddling a handful of leaves at the bottom of a shaker, then adding some regular simple syrup.

The syrup is then paired with this peculiar olive gin that we've used once before. It works very well with other earthy flavours, such as those from basil. Also super intriguing is the white wine vinegar, bringing up the acidic levels as well as noticeably flavouring the drink.

Of course we just had to garnish with olives, thread onto a bamboo pick, as well as including in the photo what remains of our basil.

The drink itself is very interesting. We love how it's bursting with this green basil colour, and the flavour is one of a kind. Much different, much delicious.

Clear ice is denser and melts more slowly, keeping your drink colder for longer without diluting its

A Spirit(ual) Journey Throughout the North of Sweden

It has always been on our wishlist, to tour the more northern parts of Sweden. Our interest in spirits and cocktails have taken us to many places in Sweden and abroad, but until now not really more north than Uppsala. Well this just changed, as we got the chance to pay a visit to gin producer Norrbottens Destilleri. And this was just the start of five fantastic days, driving between so many beautiful spots. Norrbottens Destilleri Töre, close to Kalix, is where Norrbottens Destilleri produce the
