Dark Old Fashioned

Dark Old Fashioned

It’s still Old Fashioned week, and we wanted to squeeze in this scotch variation made with Darkness. It is a new whisky to us, matured for eight years both in bourbon casks and later in sherry casks. Thanks to this it gets a very pleasant flavour, with noticeable hints of sherry of course. It works brilliantly in an Old Fashioned, accompanied only by a small amount of sugar and some bitters drops.

The recipe for an Old Fashioned is a very good template for other drinks. Switching the simple syrup for a liqueur for example is a simple yet exciting way of taking the drink in the direction of your own personal preferences. Combining the Darkness with an orange liqueur for example we think would work well, or why not even maraschino liqueur or some Cherry Heering.

This is our last Old Fashioned post, at least for this week. Happy Saturday!

Unlike cloudy ice, clear ice is free of impurities and air bubbles, offering a pristine, glass-like appearance that enhances the visual appeal of any cocktail. But it's not just about looks. Clear ice is denser and melts more slowly, keeping your drink colder for longer without diluting its

A Spirit(ual) Journey Throughout the North of Sweden

It has always been on our wishlist, to tour the more northern parts of Sweden. Our interest in spirits and cocktails have taken us to many places in Sweden and abroad, but until now not really more north than Uppsala. Well this just changed, as we got the chance to pay a visit to gin producer Norrbottens Destilleri. And this was just the start of five fantastic days, driving between so many beautiful spots. Norrbottens Destilleri Töre, close to Kalix, is where Norrbottens Destilleri produce the
