Blushing Mary

Blushing Mary

The Blushing Mary is a delicious twist on the classic Bloody Mary. But instead of using tomato juice a combination of muddled cherry tomatoes and tonic water is used to make this Mary blush rather than bleed. The recipe for this cocktail we found in Amy Stewart's fact packed book The Drunken Botanist under the headline “Pepper”. And yes, there is a hearty amount of hot pepper in the drink, but it's obviously up to you to decide how spicy you want to go in the end. To make this cocktail go real

The Gift Shop

The Gift Shop

If you are making a cocktail called The Gift Shop, by Thomas Waugh from Death & Co New York City, you know it's gonna be good! It starts with the muddling of fresh cucumber wheels, releasing both flavour and aromas. Then there is the large amount of rum, and the less voluminous pour of amaro Cardamaro. Finally there's a sweet and sour mix of lime and sugar and a nonchalant dash of bitters. 3 cucumber wheels 2 oz white rum 0,5 oz Cardamaro 0,75 oz lime juice 0,75 oz simple syrup 1 dash Angostura

Sinu Metu

Sinu Metu

The Sinu Metu by Joy Richardson is made with Irish whiskey. We don't use that very often we have to admit, but we do have a bottle of Jameson in our cabinets and we decided it was time to put it to use. Also we realized the colour of the finished cocktail would match our new coasters. We bought them at the Museum of Spirits here in Stockholm. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the pattern on the coasters is made up of the molecular structure of alcohol. Quite fitting we thought! 1,5 oz Jame

Rum Direction

Rum Direction

Our interest in rum has increased over the last year. It could be because we've visited a lot of great tiki bars, or it could also be because of a rum distillery tour we did this summer. Or it's just because there are so many mouthwatering rums out there. In this cocktail, called Rum Direction, we are using Pyrat rum. it's that chubby bottle with a metal medallion around its neck. It has an orange flavour going on, that probably doesn't work in all cocktails, but it's so good in this one. Rum
